Lesson 11: Type of Research: Surveys Day 1 of 3
The purpose of this lesson is to have students gain a deeper understanding of how the community feels about their issue. In doing so, students also will learn how to write and conduct a survey in an unbiased way.
Work with peers to promote civil, democratic discussions and decision-making, set clear goals and deadlines, and establish individual roles as needed.
Produce clear and coherent writing in which the development, organization, and style are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience.
Determine the kinds of sources that will be helpful in answering compelling and supporting questions, taking into consideration multiple points of view represented in the sources, the types of sources available, and the potential uses of the sources.
