Lesson 10: Current Events
Following current events is not only a great habit to instill, but using one or more of the strategies offered below can develop important news literacy and civic skills. We have provided a series of options to employ as regular class practice. Choose the options that best fit your objectives for your students.

Present information, findings, and supporting evidence, conveying a clear and distinct perspective, such that listeners can follow the line of reasoning, alternative or opposing perspectives are addressed, and the organization, development, substance, and style are appropriate to purpose, audience, and a range of formal and informal tasks.
