Lesson 14: Analyzing Power
In this lesson, students will explore the types of power presented in a video by Eric Liu, analyze how each of those types of power influence their issue , and begin to identify who might play a role in advancing their issue coming from different sources and types of power.
Evaluate a speaker’s point of view, reasoning, and use of evidence and rhetoric, assessing the stance, premises, links among ideas, word choice, points of emphasis, and tone used.
Draw evidence from literary or informational texts to support analysis, reflection, and research.
Evaluate citizens’ and institutions’ effectiveness in addressing social and political problems at the local, state, tribal, national, and/or international level.
