In this curriculum, students develop their civic skills by studying global, national and local governments and comparing the rights and responsibilities of individuals for maintaining a healthy democracy. The course analyzes the foundation and structure of governments through contemporary and historic case studies to compare methods of taking action to create change. This course will allow students to examine civic issues and learn civic action strategies. The students will have an opportunity to examine an issue of their choosing and apply their learning to a civics project which includes a Project Soapbox speech with our partners at Mikva and culminating in them sharing their projects with authentic audiences.
