Unit 1: America 250: Lessons

These lessons are designed to be used as standalone or together as a unit. We are also providing other Mikva Challenge lessons that compliment the new A250 lessons. Students are asked to think about their values, American values, and to take a deep dive into the ideas in the Declaration of Independence.

Lesson 1: My America

Students explore social Identities and reflect other own.

In this lesson, students will consider the different perspectives and identities of the people of the Colonial Era

Lesson 3: My Values, My Communities

Students explore their core values, what community means, and how both shape their identity.

Lesson 4: Founding Values

Students read excerpts from the Declaration of Independence to uncover the American values contained within.
