Lesson 9: Writing Day: First Draft
In this lesson, students will have time to write. The goal is to have them reflect on their progress, set a goal for the time to write and to write. This lesson can be deployed at any time in the unit after students have generated a draft.
Support claim(s) with logical reasoning and relevant evidence, using accurate, credible sources and demonstrating an understanding of the topic or text.
Write routinely over extended time frames (time for research, reflection, and revision) and shorter time frames (a single sitting or a day or two) for a range of discipline-specific tasks, purposes, and audiences.

Gather relevant information from multiple sources while using the origin, authority, structure, context, and corroborative value of the sources to guide the selection.
